At Mozaik Skin & Body, we pride ourselves on offering competitively-priced day spa services in Scottsdale, Arizona. However, the cheapest day spa is always a DIY day spa in your own home. With that in mind, we’ve collected some tips and tricks to replicate our day spa atmosphere anywhere.
DIY Rose Water: You can make your own rose water and avoid high rose water prices. Get one firmly packed cup of rose petals, pour two cups of boiling water over the top, and cover and steep until the liquid is cool (kind of like a tea). Strain and squeeze out remaining liquid from the petals, then refrigerate your DIY rose water.
Use a Blender to Make a Powerful Natural Skin Mask: You can make a powerful moisturizing skin mask at home using ingredients like yogurt, honey, aloe vera gel, and avocado. Blend the ingredients together into a blender, then apply to your skin for 20 minutes. It will moisturize your skin while providing powerful antiviral benefits.
Exfoliate your Body with Sugar or Salt: One of the things people love about the spa is the feeling of rejuvenation. Your skin feels new after skin care treatment. You can replicate this feeling at home by adding sugar or salt to a normal skin cream, then rubbing it all over your body.
Grab a Lemon: Cut a lemon into slices and rub it on trouble spots around your body – like the rough soles of your feet near your heels, or your elbows and knees. Lemons have acid that will soften rough spots on your skin while also lightening dark areas.
Make your Shower a DIY Sauna: So your house doesn’t have a built-in sauna. No problem! Make your own sauna-like experience by running the shower at its hottest temperature. Close the door and wait about 15 minutes for the steam to build. While the water is running, take a warm washcloth and spray it with the essential oil of your choice (lavender is particularly popular). Turn down the water temperature, step into the shower, and put the washcloth up to your face to breathe in the aromas. If you close your eyes, you’ll swear you’re at a spa.
Light a candle in your bathroom, turn off the lights, and follow the tips above to enjoy your own DIY day spa experience at home!
